Senior Software Engineer, Developer Experience

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our DevX Squad. The team are guardians of cloud developer experience at Oura, with a mission to increase software engineer productivity while making life easier across the software delivery lifecycle.

This role is about shaping Oura’s future software engineering experience and building our AI-assisted software delivery platform. We provide engineers with common development tools, libraries and documentation, build agentic AI workflows, and promote best practices for system design. We also run the internal developer portal and evolve it into the central entry point for engineering workflows, discoverability, and AI-assisted development.

At Oura, we orchestrate and run our public cloud services on AWS infrastructure, using key AWS technologies like EKS, DynamoDB, S3, and Aurora RDS. Experience from running, monitoring and debugging production systems at scale on AWS is a benefit but not a requirement.

You will:

• Develop and share agentic AI workflows and tooling that improve developer productivity, reduce cognitive load, and save time on common engineering tasks. In part, this includes incorporating best practices from other teams across the organization.
• Build and maintain reusable platform capabilities, libraries, and system templates that enable secure, scalable, and consistent backend development.
• Engage with stakeholders proactively to foster cross-team collaboration, and continuously gather feedback to improve developer experience at Oura.
• Promote best practices for system design, operational excellence, reliability and cloud architecture across the Oura cloud platform.
• Produce high-quality documentation for your work.

• Have a passion for all aspects of modern software development, including agentic AI tools, building efficient developer workflows, and fearlessly communicating with engineers to achieve common goals.
• Have a pragmatic can-do attitude and delivery-focused mindset, can handle tradeoffs between short-term goals and long-term tech debt.
• Think in terms of platform products and developer enablement, balancing standardization and team autonomy.
• Have designed and built data-intensive, fault-tolerant and secure systems in production environments.
• Can design developer solutions for a steadily growing organisational scale.
• Have solid programming skills in at least one of Typescript, Python or Rust. Know how to build robust deployment pipelines, with experience in related tools like Pulumi or CDK.
