Product Designer

As the Product Designer at 7shifts, you will be responsible for creating user-friendly experiences that address our customers’ problems and tackle some of the biggest challenges in the restaurant industry. Reporting into the Sr Director, Product Design and Research, you’ll be working on a cross-functional team with a Product Manager, Data Analyst, Product Marketing Manager, and Software engineers, and own a key area of our product experience. You’ll work across the entire design process and conduct research to build experiences and products that simplify team management and improve performance in restaurants.

What you’ll do:

• Brainstorm, prototype, and test concepts with customers to validate ideas early, so we invest in solutions we know will land
• Design simple, intuitive experiences that reduce friction for restaurant operators and make managing their teams feel effortless
• Build deep expertise in your product area through ongoing customer research, interviews, and observation, using that knowledge to bring forward-thinking concepts that open new value
• Partner with engineers from design through delivery, ensuring quality holds at every stage of implementation
• Actively integrate AI tools as a core part of how you work, whether that's synthesizing research, generating concept directions, or accelerating prototyping, so you can go deeper and move faster than traditional workflows allow
• Contribute to design team rituals, reviews, and initiatives that raise the bar for craft and help us grow as a team

What you bring:

• Experience in a Product Design role on cross-functional teams in a SaaS environment
• A working AI practice, you actively use AI tools in your design workflow and can speak to how they've changed the way you work
• Strong communication skills that let you articulate design decisions clearly and advocate for customer needs in stakeholder discussions
• Proficiency in Figma and collaborative design tools, able to move fluidly from rough concept to high-fidelity
• Fluency across the full design process, from research and problem definition through ideation, prototyping, validation, and iteration
• A portfolio of web and/or mobile work that shows not just what you made, but how you think, your process, your decisions, and the problems you solved

It’d be even cooler if you had:

• Previous experience in the restaurant-tech industry or working in a restaurant setting

Compensation

The base compensation range for this position is 80,000-115,000. This range reflects the full growth path for the role, from building core skills to accomplished performance, through to role mastery. We typically target the accomplished level when hiring externally. At this level, individuals bring relevant experience in the role, demonstrate strong job-related skills, operate with confidence and consistency, and are able to deliver impact with limited ramp-up while still having meaningful opportunity to grow.

Compensation at 7shifts is performance and growth-driven. As you develop your skills and expand your impact over time, your compensation grows with you. Your specific placement within this range is based on your job-related skills, knowledge, and experience, as well as our internal equity assessment.
