About the team / Product at Justworks
The Justworks Product team advances our mission by building products that extend levels of personal care and deep expertise that our customers have never experienced before. They craft innovative solutions that guide users through the most complicated challenges of running (and working for) a small business, with ease. They deeply understand complex regulatory spaces like FinTech, Healthcare, and HRTech, and have a keen intuition for how to connect threads across our customers’ needs and our business’ risk management and commercialization strategy. Our Product Managers lead highly collaborative creative endeavors, bringing together stakeholders across engineering, design, data services, operations, and customer-facing teams to deliver tangible value.

We’re looking for teammates who will help shape Justworks’ future and make a profound impact on our business. As a Product Manager, you’ll be working across complex spaces (Fintech, Healthcare, HR Tech - all with serious policy/regulatory environments). That will require you to have a keen intuition for customer needs, risk management, and commercialization. Care is at the center of everything we do, and you’ll need to love talking with customers and engaging with our Customer Success, Sales and Marketing teams to make sure that care is coming through in every part of our customers’ experience. About the role
When a business owner decides to pay their workforce on Justworks, they aren't just triggering a technical process—they are making a promise to their employees. The payments team is responsible for ensuring that promise is kept with absolute certainty. We manage the flow of billions of dollars, but our true product is trust.
As a Senior PM on this team, you will lead the platform that powers every dollar moved by Justworks. You will move beyond just managing features to building the foundational primitives—Wallets, Balances, and Automated Reconciliation and Treasury—that allow Justworks to launch new financial services and scale globally. Your goal is to make the incredibly complex world of money movement feel invisible and effortless for our customers and internal teams.
We see this mission in three parts:
- Customer Confidence: Creating a transparent, real-time experience for users to see where their money is, from balances to pending tax payments and local remittances.
- Product Velocity: Designing a modular financial platform that allows other Justworks product teams to "plug in" and move money without reinventing the wheel.
- Operational Integrity: Building the automation of the future—systems that reconcile, detect and heal anomalies, and manage liquidity so our Finance teams can scale with the business.
Responsibilities
- Own the Financial Roadmap: Develop and execute a multi-year strategy for our money movement platform, balancing long-term infrastructure health with immediate customer needs.
- Translate Complexity into Simplicity: Take dense regulatory and financial concepts (reconciliation, KYC, treasury logic) and turn them into intuitive product workflows.
- Drive the Money UX: Partner with Design to ensure that financial data—like balances, payroll pulls, and tax withholdings—is communicated to customers in a way that provides peace of mind and clarity.
- Empower Internal Stakeholders: Work deeply with our Payroll and Accounting Ops teams to build the tools that help us move money confidently and faster across our network.
- Productize the Ledger: Transform our internal bookkeeping into a robust "Source of Truth" product that serves as the foundation for all financial reporting and auditing.
- Ruthless Prioritization: Navigate the trade-offs between building for future scale and delivering immediate value, using data and customer feedback to guide your decisions.
- Cross-Functional Leadership: Be the primary advocate for financial integrity across the organization, ensuring PMs in other areas understand how to leverage your platform safely.
What you'll need
- Experience: 5+ years of PM experience, with a significant portion spent in Fintech, Payments, or B2B financial software.
- Systems Thinking: You love thinking about how different parts of a platform connect. You can visualize a transaction flowing through multiple systems and identify where the "product gaps" are.
- Customer Empathy: You are obsessed with the end-user experience. You care about how much capital matters to small business owners
- Technical Literacy: You don’t need to code, but you should be able to hold your own in a conversation about API design, data consistency, and how money moves across different payment rails
- Communication & Influence: You can explain complex financial concepts to a non-technical audience and build a compelling business case for infrastructure investments.
- Problem-Solving: A track record of breaking down high-level business goals into actionable execution plans for a high-performing engineering team.
The base wage range for this position based in our New York City Office is targeted at $165,000.00 - $202,500.00 per year.
Actual compensation is based on multiple factors that are unique to each candidate, including and not limited to skill set, level of relevant experience, and specific work location. Salary ranges for positions based in other locations may differ based on the cost of labor in that location.
