As a Junior Software Engineer, you’ll be an integral, equal member of a cross‑functional engineering squad, partnering with engineers at every level and collaborating with product managers, designers, and more to ship features that deliver AI‑driven insights, multilingual experiences, and next‑gen loyalty capabilities for thousands of merchants.

Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, test, and ship user-facing features and backend services with guidance, owning tasks from planning to deployment and monitoring.
- Write clean, maintainable, and well‑tested code; add meaningful logs/metrics and concise docs.
- Participate in code/design reviews, giving and receiving constructive feedback to raise the bar.
- Collaborate with product, design, and data to refine scope, break work into iterations, and deliver measurable customer value.
- Improve system health: fix bugs, reduce tech debt, and contribute to performance, reliability, security, and maintainability.
- Leverage modern dev tools (e.g., Git, CI/CD, observability, AI assistants) thoughtfully, critiquing and iterating rather than accepting output blindly.
Required Skills
- Experience: Professional software development (internships/co‑ops count), building web apps or cloud services.
- Languages/Stack: Proficiency in at least one of: TypeScript/Node.js, Java/Kotlin/C#, Python, Ruby, or Go—and/or React with TypeScript. Willingness to learn our stack.
- Foundations: Solid grasp of data structures, algorithms, HTTP, REST/GraphQL, and relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL/MySQL).
- Quality & Delivery: Experience with Git, unit/integration testing, debugging with logs/metrics, and incremental, value‑first delivery.
- Mindset: Customer‑centric, collaborative, takes ownership for outcomes, and seeks feedback.
Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)
- Cloud platforms (AWS/GCP), containers (Docker), and CI/CD (GitHub Actions/Jenkins/CircleCI).
- Event‑driven systems and messaging (Kafka/RabbitMQ/Pub/Sub); caching and NoSQL (Redis/Elasticsearch).
- Observability/monitoring (Datadog, Prometheus, OpenTelemetry) and basic SRE practices.
- Experience in eCommerce, marketing tech, or SaaS at scale; familiarity with AI‑assisted development tools.
