Location & Remote Work for technology and remote-first roles
Our technology team operates under a "remote-first" model, which means we work from home and can live anywhere in Brazil. We also offer the option of working from our São Paulo offices or partner coworking spaces, up to twice a week.

About the Role

As a Head of Engineering for our Fintech division, you will lead a strategic and complex organization responsible for building high-scale, secure, and resilient financial products that impact millions of users. On top of a strong technical background, we are looking for a leader who excels at navigating complex business ecosystems, nurturing talent, and fostering an inclusive culture.
Your Impact:

Drive Strategic Execution: Lead and inspire a large engineering organization to deliver critical financial solutions, ensuring high availability and high-quality execution at scale.

Shape the Technical Vision: Define and co-create the multi-year technical strategy for our financial products, balancing business growth with regulatory requirements and system resilience.

Foster Engineering Excellence: Establish durable technical standards for security, data privacy, and architecture that enhance innovation across multiple collaborative teams.

Develop Tomorrow’s Leaders: Act as a leader —actively coaching, mentoring, and developing other Engineerings and Staff Engineers, while designing a healthy and effective organizational structure.

Scale the Organization: Cultivate a strong hiring strategy, acting as an ambassador to attract, welcome, and retain critical senior talent.
We are looking for someone who has:

Solid experience managing engineering teams and developing other leaders/ stakeholders.
-
A strong background in software engineering, with experience in high-scale, mission-critical systems or distributed architectures.

Experience navigating the complexities of financial products, transactions, payment methods, credit, or regulated environments (Bacen/LGPD).

A proven track record of owning, planning, and delivering long-term strategic technical roadmaps.

Professional fluency in both English and Portuguese.

Requirements
- Have strong knowledge of computer theory, including optimization of algorithms and distributed systems.
- Have already developed scalable client-server mobile applications.
- Have already built winning Products or Platforms on successful companies.
- Have some experience with AWS services;
- Have some knowledge in Docker, modern CDs/CIs (Jenkins, Travis, Circle, Drone, ...);
- Know how to test and tune scalability.
