As the Engineering Manager, you’ll be at the forefront of how we apply Artificial Intelligence to software engineering—working with the team to build the foundational frameworks, evangelizing AI agentic workflows across the company, driving to AI enabled real production workflows, and shaping how teams across the company build with AI. We are looking for an experienced Engineering Manager with a deep passion for using AI and automation to solve complex, large-scale problems across a dynamic and diverse engineering organization..

What You'll Do

As an Engineering Manager of AI Enablement, you will be responsible for leading a team focused on designing and delivering world-class, AI-driven solutions to accelerate the engineering organization. Your role will involve:

• Strategic Leadership: Define the technical vision and roadmap for AI enablement. aligning with Klaviyo's overarching engineering and business goals.
• Team Management: You will own the day-to-day operations, team mentoring and coaching, and help the engineers on your team grow their careers.
• Enhance Developer Productivity: Drive initiatives to improve platform cycle time metrics and engineering efficiency through the application of AI and automation.
• Technical Expertise & Build Paved Paths: Act as a subject matter expert for AI-driven engineering tools. Design, implement, and maintain robust, scalable full-stack platforms and tools that allow other engineers to easily integrate and utilize AI services and capabilities within their projects.
• Experimentation: Continuously experiment with new AI tools and workflows—testing, learning, and sharing insights to keep the team and organization ahead of the curve, as well as championing new applications that accelerate workflows and elevate quality responsibly.
• Establish Best Practices: Define the standards, patterns, and architectural guidance for responsible and effective AI enablement, ensuring reliability, security, and performance.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Product, Design, and other Engineering teams to articulate technical strategies, influence stakeholders, and deliver production-ready solutions.

What You'll Bring

To succeed in this role, you should possess a combination of strong technical expertise and proven leadership abilities:

• Experience: 5+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 2+ years in a Management or similar role, preferably in a high-growth environment, navigating technical complexity and change.
• Technical Acumen: Deep understanding of modern software development practices, including CI/CD, local development environments, and cloud infrastructure (AWS).
• Full Stack & AI Expertise: 5+ years of full stack development experience with proficiency in languages like Python, Typescript, and/or Go. Strong hands-on experience with specific AI/ML frameworks or platforms (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow, LangChain, Claude, Gemini, Copilot).
• Leadership & Mentorship: Ability to inspire, mentor, and grow a team of highly skilled engineers, fostering a culture of ownership and continuous improvement.
• Problem Solver: A track record of diagnosing and solving complex technical challenges related to developer workflows and systems.
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to articulate technical strategies, influence stakeholders, and facilitate cross-functional collaboration.
• AI Hunger: You’ve already experimented with AI in work or personal projects, and you’re excited to dive in and learn fast. You’re hungry to responsibly explore new AI tools and workflows, finding ways to make your work smarter and more efficient.

Our salary range reflects the cost of labor across various U.S. geographic markets. The range displayed below reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all our US locations. The base salary offered for this position is determined by several factors, including the applicant’s job-related skills, relevant experience, education or training, and work location.

In addition to base salary, our total compensation package may include participation in the company’s annual cash bonus plan, variable compensation (OTE) for sales and customer success roles, equity, sign-on payments, and a comprehensive range of health, welfare, and wellbeing benefits based on eligibility.
